We created an identity system for Meetup.com — a social network that facilitates offline group meetings in various locations around the world. The platform allows members to join groups unified by a common interest, such as politics, books, health, pets, careers or hobbies. 

Originally, we met with Meetup to redesign the logo, but during our initial discussions, it became clear that a simple logo would not answer the difficulties that lie ahead. The real challenge was to create a system that would allow a viewer to find one's own community on a small screen efficiently and delightfully. 

We created a system to allow easy navigation of categories and subcategories, using a limited number of symbolic colorful photography and many duotone-based background images that can be easily generated. We also suggested a system of icons, illustrations and animations inspired by the concept of individuals swarming together.
